Türkiye packages value and growth for African markets.
With the rise of private label retail brands across Africa, Türkiye’s food packaging sector is gaining strong momentum. Manufacturers in Istanbul, Konya, and Mersin are now producing packaging solutions tailored for export—from eco-friendly plastics to biodegradable containers.
African importers are sourcing pre-packaged goods or raw materials for in-country food processing and retail. Türkiye’s ability to offer customizable, low-cost packaging aligned with local preferences is a major competitive advantage.
The food packaging industry in Türkiye has been supported by automation and innovation, allowing for high-volume, flexible orders. In particular, Türkiye’s halal-compliant certifications and adherence to food safety standards make it a preferred partner in predominantly Muslim regions.
The Africa–Türkiye Economic Forum has facilitated trade linkages, while Turkish exporters are increasingly attending food and packaging expos in Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa to secure new partnerships.
In 2024 alone, food packaging exports to sub-Saharan Africa increased by 19%, showing a robust appetite for collaboration. Türkiye’s consistent quality and adaptability position it as a reliable supplier for the continent’s growing consumer markets.
