Unlocking mutual growth between Türkiye and the Gulf through enhanced trade corridors.
Türkiye’s trade relations with Gulf nations such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar are gaining new momentum thanks to the latest free zone agreements signed in early 2025. These agreements provide tax advantages, reduced bureaucracy, and strategic trade hubs that attract foreign investors and buyers alike.
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have increasingly looked to Türkiye as a manufacturing and logistics base to access Europe and Central Asia. The signing of new bilateral cooperation deals in logistics and energy strengthens Türkiye’s role as a connecting hub.
One major development includes the integration of port and airport free zones to streamline multimodal transport. For example, a new bonded corridor between Mersin Port and Istanbul Airport’s cargo city is now operational, reducing costs and cutting delivery times by nearly 35%.
According to the Ministry of Trade, exports to Gulf nations from Türkiye rose by 18.6% year-on-year in the first half of 2025. Machinery, building materials, and foodstuffs topped the export list.
